First Baby Booties

Another first attempt, baby booties. These were super fun to make and fast! I could finish a pair in an hour or so. And look how cute and tiny!!!

Crocheted Baby Blanket

This is my first ever attempt at a baby blanket. I made it for my neighbor, I still have no idea if she likes it, haha. But I am pretty nearly happy with the results :) I used a cotton yarn that was really thick and soft. And the cute little fluffy rows are called bunny tails.

These are some pics of the decorations my mom and I put together for Shelly's baby shower last fall.

We made these tissue paper pompom things to hang

These were all super fun to make, but a TON of work!! But everyone complimented us on how cute things were, and of course, with my mom doing the cooking, the food was also amazing. It was a hit of a shower!!

Stumbling

Oh my goodness sakes, guys. I finally discovered stumbleupon. I've been bookmarking crafts, recipes, cute videos about dogs that make me cry and awesome vacation destinations galore. The only problem. I may end up spending my whole life stumbling upon things on the internet instead of actually doing them. Although I did stumble upon some sweet friendship bracelets that me n' Kimmy made together. And I got a bunch of cute date ideas. And I could probably have a degree in HR now, considering how many articles I've read about relationships in the workplace, romantic and otherwise.

Anyway, these things are just a small sampling of all the stuff I want to try now. And feel free to try these yourselves and report back to me how they turn out, I may be on here for a while.

peace and blessings!!

3rd time, no charm.

Twice in my life now, I've encountered a certain unpleasant member of the insect family. The tick.
Not this tick
This tick.

The first encounter happened to be in Delaware when I was 16 and on vacation with my cousins. I scratched my arm, but there was a small bump there impeding my ability to scratch. I looked down and there was this pesky little bugger (nice pun) burrowing his little head into space that was not really his to burrow into. I'd heard that you don't just try to yank their heads out, because they could pop right off and you'd be left with part of a bug still in your body. So we went and got some matches to burn the little guy so he would scoot out on his own. Turns out they don't do that either, and basically we just fried him with his head still inside me. Well we picked him out with tweezers, I was left with nothing more then a small read mark on my arm, and I moved on with life. I wasn't too paranoid after this experience because I figured, what happens in Delaware stays in Delaware. Just kidding, but I really was thinking ticks were a problem more common  to that region than to NV.

This is getting wordier than I planned.

Anywho, tonight, guess what happened?! You never will. I ate at Red Robin!!! And got a gluten free bun for my chicken sandwich, which was amazing! And that's not the story I was going to tell :)

I had my second encounter with a tick. I was just sitting there, watching a movie, and noticed something felt kinda funny on my head. I felt around for a while when finally I peeled off a small something. Looked at it, naturally freaked out realizing it was a bug, flicked it onto what seemed like my mom, tried to find the thing, couldn't, then tried to continue watching the movie in peace, which of course was impossible because I now felt the creepy crawlies. Turns out, I was justified. I did not know at this point what kind of bug it was that disturbed my peace.

I felt a little sting under my shirt, but attributed it to paranoia since I had just pulled a bug out of my hair.

Later, I went to take my nightly bath because I love them. As I undressed, I saw a little dot on my skin. He was back, and it was none other than my little friend, the tick. His head was slightly burrowed into my skin, but not enough for me to not get him out easily.

He got flushed.

So you know how there's that saying, 3rd time's a charm? Yeah. No. I'll be the most perfectly happy person with no charming 3rd time in this instance. So let those ticks be a lesson to all the rest of the ticks out there. You mess with the Savannah, you get the burn. Or the flush. Or whatever is the fastest way to kill you.

peace and blessings!! (but not to the ticks)
